Should I get offended by this stuff?

my friend was complaining about her older brother and how protective he is over her and she's sick of it and wish he would lay off. In the back of my head i was thinking, i wish my brother was protective over me so i got offended by it because she knows that my brother doesn't pay no mind to me. We're twins so he got pretty sick of me [by hours he's older than me,] I wish he was protective over me and i get upset knowing he doesn't care about me. He seriously doesn't. ): So, i get upset everytime someone mentions funny/good stories about there brothers. Is it normal to feel this way and get insulted when someone talks about there brother in fount of me?
