Why do people mourn the death of Kurt Cobain when...?

Because Kurt Cobain was a great person and didn't deserve to die, especially after what he contributed to the world. He didn't die happy which makes things all the more depressing.. The idea that he never wrote anything of Radiohead quality is a matter of opinion, many people think Nevermind is nearly as good if not even better than anything Radiohead wrote. If he continued to live he showed a lot of promise for creating even more masterpieces, as evidenced by the song "You Know You're Right" which is one of the best songs he wrote and was probably going to end up on his next album.
